Giorgio Armani
Giorgio Armani Woman Spring Summer 2017 – This season Armani was all about charm. “The idea of charming is a certain femininity – which I interpret as little things”. These so-called ‘little things’ were sprinkled carefully across each look.
Glittering threads ran through sheer dresses and blazers. Large round hats were worn behind the head like dark halos. Pops of red were stippled here and there and sparkly silver sequins adorned shorts. Subtle ethnic references peppered the show. African beadwork was used to create swinging shawls and tassels hung from woven tank tops.
Armani’s classic unstructured tailoring hit a high. Blazers were fine and sheer and pyjama-style trousers were made in a diaphanous organza that established a cool feel to the summery collection.
The looks were almost entirely blue, from deep indigos to paler shades and soft greys. Prints that were full of movement and beautifully lucid fabrics made models look like underwater creatures. Sparkling sequined shorts dropped to mid-thigh, like mermaid tails cut short and fringing floated as they left the runway.
