Spring-Summer 2014 – With a series of romantic and charming floral prints Franck Sorbier’s Haute Couture collection was pretty, elegant and ultimately feminine.
As previously stated, florals made up the main focus point of this collection, however the range of floral prints displayed could not have been more varied. Included in the display of florals were embroidered roses, retro floral prints, tapestry florals and Eastern garden scenes.
The collection’s colour palette appeared to be split up in to three
sections: monochrome, colour and crisp white. Whilst the monochrome pieces were classic and glamorous looking, the colour came in a series of lavish, rococo style prints and gave the collection an underlying, romantic quality. Additionally, through the embodiment of intricate lace, fringing and artistic cut out detailing, the white came in a series of covetable gowns.
As well as having lavish puff ball skirts, the collection’s other stand-out pieces included a mint and gold baroque gown, a fuchsia pink gown and fabulous blanket shawls.
Combining influences from the 50s and 18th and 19th century, Franck Sorbier’s collection felt beautifully feminine and was underlined with a nostalgic, romantic quality.
