Boss Women

Boss Women Spring Summer 2017 – A wall of circular lights flickered on, then shone in unison to light the runway for the Boss Women’s show this afternoon. Models walked out to the sound of electronic music, wearing bright colors and light fabrics.

Bias cut silk dresses with pleated skirts, and blazers with cinched sleeves opened the show. Knit dresses, ribbed or sheer, hugged the body, offering peeks at the tank tops they were layered over. Suit separates, whether a blazer and slacks or a jacket and shorts, were paired with wispy camisoles to a casual effect. Loose shorts with tied belts added to this relaxed feeling, as did the unrestricting fit of the clothing. Green, blue, and red were the only colours used outside of black and white, with the exception of two bright yellow purses. These bright colors and the clean lines of the collection gave a sporty look to the show.

Crumpled linen tops and dresses came through the middle of the collection, followed by a shoulder-baring black jumpsuit that drew in at the waist and framed the collar bones. Bias cut dresses with alternating panels of lace and mesh added a distinct femininity to the eveningwear, reflected in the coloured floral overlaid on the same lace later on. More dresses with cutouts, and sheer tank dresses with abstract patterns of scaling closed the collection.

Cargo pockets were featured heavily, appearing on jackets, vests, and long, sleeveless coats. An abstract floral pattern in the same bright colors that marked the show, looked almost like a playful take on camo. Sports sandals and sunglasses rimmed in bright colours accessorised the show, along with leather bags of varying shapes and colors. The collection overall was characterized by refined shapes in bright colors, with daring details and subtly seductive notions.
