Top menswear looks from recent celebrity weddings

Lounge suit

Also known as a business suit, this is a perennial classic. Seth Meyers went with a simple gray suit for his wedding earlier this year. It was a choice aped by many a celebrity groom including Klaxons singer James Righton who got hitched to actress Keira Knightley wearing a navy blue suit with a baby blue tie and a matching pocket square. When designer Narciso Rodriguez married Thomas Tolan this summer the pair wore matching white shirts, black ties and floral buttonholes. Narciso opted for a dark jacket and pants, while Thomas picked out a cream-colored lounge suit, giving the couple a bold contrast look.

Tuxedo and bow-tie

You can’t beat a good tux and tie combo! John Legend married model Chrissy Teigen in Italy this fall wearing a classic dark tuxedo with a lighter colored silk bow tie. When “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul and Lauren Parsekian tied the knot, Aaron went with the same idea, but paired his dark blue Burberry tuxedo with a smaller, black bow-tie. And it’s not just young bucks who like a tux; when 73-year-old singer Tina Turner finally married Erwin Bach after 27 years together, the groom wore a grey tuxedo with a silver bow tie.

All-black vs all-white

Going all out with one color can make a strong statement. In April, former “ER” star Mekhi Phifer chose an all-white tuxedo, which he wore with a pair of caramel-colored lace-up shoes. Canadian rocker Chad Kroeger went the opposite route, matching his bride Avril Lavigne’s all black look (she even carried a bouquet of black roses) when the pair married in France.

Morning suit

When you’re getting married to a princess you need to raise your game a little, and there’s no better solution for a high-profile wedding than a morning suit. Financier Christopher O’Neill wed Sweden’s Princess Madeleine wearing a classic dark morning suit with a white waistcoat, which he jazzed up a little with a royal decoration from future father-in-law King Carl XVI Gustaf.
