Brioni Names Justin O’Shea Creative Director
Brioni has announced the appointment of Justin O’Shea as the new creative director, effective April 1. O’Shea will be responsible for both the brand’s collections as well as its image. O’Shea comes from a business background, most recently as global fashion director at MyTheresa, a company he joined in 2009.
On O’Shea as the new creative director, CEO Gianluca Flore stated that, “I am very confident Justin O’Shea’s new artistic direction for Brioni will be instrumental in strengthening our core values and continuing to drive dynamism and innovation into the brand heritage. Justin has shown an accurate understanding of the company’s DNA and historic roots and an assertive approach on how to make those values relevant for the brand today.”
Grita Loebsack, CEO of Brioni’s parent company Kering’s Couture and Leather Goods Emerging Brands, added to this sentiment with her own, addressing O’Shea’s lack of design experience as well, “I join Gianluca in welcoming Justin O’Shea as Creative Director of Brioni. An unconventional profile for such a position, Justin brings a holistic approach and strong understanding of business. I believe his vision will accurately translate into this role and add a distinctive signature to the House.”
“I am deeply honored to undertake this new challenge for such prestigious and celebrated menswear house,” O’Shea added regarding his appointment, “It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to writing a new chapter in the story of Brioni.”
Founded in 1945 in Rome, Brioni has curated a long history of providing sharp, well-tailored suits. While Brioni’s suits are recognizable from red carpet events to films such as James Bond, the company also works with men’s’ jewelry, shoes, eyewear, fragrances and ready-to-wear.
