Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – Outfits for every occasion were available on the catwalk at Stella McCartney, with pieces perfect for work, weekend rest and evening time play.
To wrap you up warm against the cold were oversized quilted puffa jackets which emphasised the shoulders as did the denim coats, left undone and slung on without the sleeves. Other quite manly and long designs seemed to mirror the end of the night look of a woman who was rocking the jacket of her other half.
These were paired with shiny striped cropped trousers, peeping out to add some elegant glamour or taking the collection’s vibe in a different direction, with oversized fabric trousers that covered the models’ shoes, often resembling loungewear. This created a sense of scruffy formality throughout the collection, as whilst many pieces resembled two-piece suits there was a loose, cosy feel to the designs as well.
A grey tailored tweed jacket, for example, was layered over sloughy swan print pyjama trousers with a silky slip just visible to add a touch of sensuality to a look that said both ‘I’ve just rolled out of bed’ and ‘I’m ready for our business meeting.
Draping also added romance to the designs with lace dresses in nude colours and loose fitting longsleeved casual gowns with frilled hems suggesting that the brand had the woman who wants to be glamorous, but more importantly still comfortable, when she goes to bed covered too.
