Celine
Celine Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – Loose fabrics and oversized tailoring ruled the runway at Celine in a collection full of movement and attitude.
Wide legged trousers were a staple in the majority of the looks, evoking a particularly nonchalant attitude as they were designed to sweep onto the floor despite their light colours such as buttermilk and white.
The pieces layered over them had a similar flair. Long sleeved, collared shirts were cut long to cover the hips, varying from matching the trousers’ airiness to contrast it in more boxy, mannish designs.
Elegant silk dresses were also toughened up over them, with their skirts tied in a scrunched knot to one side to reveal the trousers or given slouchy pockets and elaborate furry ringed belts, as if proving the Celine girl was ready for any occasion.
Oversized jackets and coats added to the relaxed attitude these pieces embodied, ranging from colourful designs that looked more like cosy blankets to structured camel-coloured coats that were cut to below the knee. A particular highlight was one black knit hitched up over the model’s arm with a little help from the bag she held clenched in her hand.
