Haider Ackermann Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – Tailoring got sexy at Haider Ackermann where bold trousers seemed to be tighter than if they had been sprayed on.

This approach was clear from the very first look sent down the runway with a pair of attention-grabbing second-skin trousers in a shiny metallic purple and black design accentuated further by the long and loose coat in a contrasted green check layered over them.

Flashes of skin beneath the jackets, often worn without a shirt, added to the collection’s sex appeal as did the emerald green and ruby red velvet dresses which were slit all the way up to the hip bone.

The elaborate prints and half on half off jackets that accompanied these pieces however also created an atmosphere of fun, which suggested this aura wasn’t to be taken too seriously. The same was true of the tuxedo trousers, the formal tailoring of which was contrasted with bright fuschia and orange racing stripes down the side.

In fact, there was something martian-chic about the collection as a whole, emphasised not only by the increasingly recurring psychedelic patterns of the designs but also the use of brightly coloured headpieces which extended from the models’ heads like antennae.
