Autumn-Winter 2013/14 – A sumptuous array of styles came through the catwalk at the Dior Couture show. The range was rich in fabrics, embellishment and colours, offering a little something for everyone. Dresses were the epitome of glamour, offering a silver, black and white palette with intricate floral detailing on the bust. Skirts, adding pops of colour, were structured and, upon closer inspection, a beautiful example of craftsmanship with fine beaded detailing. Jackets were sculptured to create a variety of shapes, there were shorter pieces with belle sleeves and tulip hems contrasting with more bloated knee-length variations. Exotic dresses draped across the body and fell off the shoulder. They created a symphony of colours in cobolt blue, red, navy and white. Dresses were the key component of the collection and used a mixture of synthetics to create spiked and cactus like body-cons or a cascade of tassels. The use of new and interesting textiles created a beautiful union of art and fashion.
