Raf Simons

Spring-Summer 2014 – Androgyny was rife in the Raf Simons collection for this season. The womenswear trend of pinafores with little blouses underneath seems to have ascended onto the menswear catwalks. There was nothing formal about this collection either, it was refreshingly casual, with giant logos on oversized t-shirts and bright eye-popping colours on everything from shirts to wellies to trainers. There were also a lot of diagonal stripes which made a change to the horizontal or vertical ones we generally see in Spring/Summer collections. A lot of the t-shirts and jackets seemed to be displaying some kind of retro advertising and there were lots of bold, geometric prints such as dots and triangles. All of the pieces in this collection were very wearable, especially the non-fitted loose trench coats and long button up t-shirts.
