Moschino

Moschino Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – If it wasn’t possible for Jeremy Scott to outdo himself as creative director of Moschino, his collection for AW16 proved that untrue. The 80s were once more in full swing, as Scott seemed to pay homage to 90s Gianni Versace, through the use of heavy chainmail and hardware.

The mood was tough, yet casual thanks in parts to garments such as t-shirts daisy dukes, jeans and denim mum skirts serving as the base for ostentatious amounts of skirt. Volume was not spared, and skirts splashed in Barbie Pink and regal mauves – with simultaneously rising and unfurling hemlines, took the shape of mermaid fins or were wrapped around the body like a bow.

All looks were toughened with some portion of leather to emphasise the aggressive nature of the collection, especially through PVC thigh high boots and raw distressed denim. Towards the closing, Scott’s display of anti-fashion took another turn when the gowns began to fall apart, one more tattered then the previous one, the effect of which was caused by burning holes through them.

Some showpieces included an elegant chandelier dress, and another with piano notes attached to it.
