Spring-Summer 2012 – It was a harmonious cross between the aquatics and the reptile for Armani Privé. An abundance of textures ensured the clothes came alive with snake-skin and fish-scales. There were shimmering mineral jackets and a frequent display of blue and green. The scale-like synthetics were fish-like at times, while the shimmering blue skirts resembled the ocean at dawn. The shape of sea-horse tails contoured the waist to created a sculpture of spirals. Otherwise, contours resembled the top of lizard eyes. Particularly prominent was the blazer both chic and smart; Armani’s hung close to the body and fell just short of the hips. The straight-leg trousers were given a touch of ‘je ne sais quoi’ via a fishnet layer, a style intrinsic to the Armani look this season. The finale of ball gowns were an convocation of reptilian fabrics and marine shells. The collection enforced the beauty and intricacy of fabric and synthetic.
