Valentino
Valentino Man Autumn-Winter 2016-17 – A journey of self-discovery in America as creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli undertake an aesthetic exploration for the new Valentino Men’s collection.
The new Valentino Men’s collection re-examines geometric patterns and customises the use of exquisite workmanship that combines respect for the American tradition with freedom of interpretation. The jackets express the desire of manual artistry in forms of embroidered camouflage, denim, tartans and geometric prints. The collection is designed to cherish the old whilst embracing the new in culture.
The majority of the jackets were worn with light blue denim jeans whilst the black suit is given personal touch with customized embellishments inspired by the performers of another time. The collection explores a philosophical adventure that leads into self-examination and a jacket that displays a picture of a portrait with painted canvas of memories.
The collection presents a laid back style with minimal accessories to the looks and the men present long and lean looking hair. Colours such as red, grey and black are greatly explored and footwear is kept simple with black lace up shoes.
The Valentino show closed with a checked red and black tartan suit.
