Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – Paris seems to be synonymous with soft as another designer, this time Mouret, showed another modern take on delicate using lilac, cream, ice blue and fondant green alongside light folds here and there. The result of this being a refined effect: the silhouette was sharp, the colour palette ‘girly‘ and the finish folded. This did not mean to say there were no darker elements, there were many: black polo-neck tops paired with rich navy skirts, think black waist-belts; knee-high boots and finally, the LBD – slinky as ever, sculpting around the shoulder and finishing above the knees. The tailored look is so pertinent and has been modified to perfection, such that women can don a different suit everyday as Mouret delivered grey oversized blazers, then neat, white folded ones with billowing tailored skirts or trousers to match: collectively, the clothes told the tale of practicality.
