Spring-Summer 2011 – A depiction of a young woman strolling down the rose garden with her canvas tote in hand is what D&G brought to the catwalk. Delicate floral prints emblazoned off-the-shoulder tops, playsuits and skirts. Gingham was also a prevalent feature embodied on bloomers – albeit worn as short puffed culottes like knickers, rather than their traditional use as undergarments. A 1970’s vibe was also in the air. Wide legged trousers and floating fabrics personified a carefree hippy vibe, as did the floral bandanas and knee-length culottes. The high wedges tied around the ankle with a flower helped epitomise the prettiness of the show. As did the beautiful and elegant maxi dresses at the end of the collection. Long chiffon fabric flaunted the floating dresses whilst still maintain the floral 70’s vibe with off-the-shoulder and puff shouldered sleeves. The collection was quintessential Spring/Summer: floral perfection.
