Spring-Summer 2011 – The South Pacific was on the agenda for this illustrious show. First up was the sexy sultry sailor. The opening model was wearing a doffed white sailor hat teemed with a white parka. Coats were the predominant feature. A gunmetal leather pea coat, a suede flying jacket, and a navy donkey jacket hung over the cheeky peek-a-boo dresses. These dresses served the Hawaiian theme. Palm trees and large flowers were printed onto halter dresses. Summer dresses were orange, turquoise, green and purple. They were accessorised with a ‘Hula Hula’ girls dream – playful flower necklaces and gathered waistbands. Ra-ra hemlines playfully bounded around the thighs and wide leg navy trousers ensured the 1970’s vibe was as prevalent as ever. The dazzling party dresses came next. Soft chiffons and multicoloured designs made the dresses personify blossoming flowers. An idyllic blue maxi dress captured the pacific sea. Billowing down the catwalk the dress was reminiscent of the clear blue sea on a sun-kissed day. No one could ignore the multicoloured beribboned platforms that were strutting down the catwalk. They captured the vibrancy of Galliano’s collection.
