Helmut Lang

Autumn – Winter 2013/14 

The Helmut Lang catwalk gave out a forceful geometric message with the domination of inconsistent hemlines and the laser-cut. Not short of outerwear, the collection consisted of short bomber jackets, all-over rabbit fur coats, long length leather trenches and the formal suit jacket. There was always a constant constrast of light and dark colouring which added to the layering effect perfect for the colder months.

Incorporating slight bursts of blues, browns and yellows into cut out shapes became a common theme designers Michael and Nicole Colovos decided to focus on. Pristine tailoring and sharp cuts were also apparent on shimmering cigarette trousers and long length blazers. Detail was commonly centred around the collar from a polo neck to open breasted jackets elaborating on the skillful fabric cut only the Lang collection has the ability to do perfectly. Focusing on shapes led to immaculate silhouettes and an all round successful outcome.
