Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum Man Autumn-Winter 2016-17 – Burberry’s Christopher Bailey, came to us with a newly introduced change at the house; – the merging of smart, Burberry London and the casual of Brit, under one name Burberry Prorsum. It would be appropriate to say this was a smart unison, matching the modern shopper’s approach to style and dressing.

There was a predominance of leisurewear, tracksuits and connotations of the latter, worn under luxe fur zip-ups. The humble tracksuit top got a definite makeover, also seen worn with sequined ankle-grazers. Plaid, Hound’s tooth and military buttoned coats came in classic cuts, while there were plenty more mountain-ready warmers paired with indispensable knitwear.

The quintessence of Burberry shone through several looks, the trademark check, visible on and peeking from underneath double breasted trench coats. A revival of pieces from the archives, made for a strong offering of cold weather staples, against new additions, in a daring attempt of styling high and low toward a commercially relevant mix.
