Hans Feurer

Hans Feurer was born in 1933 in Switzerland.

He studied Photography in London.

In the 1960s he became one of the major photographers of the British edition of Vogue Magazine. Soon after he started working for its French edition as well as accepting assignments from the French and American editions of Elle.

He shoot internationally renowned models such as Laeticia Casta or Claudia Schiffer and is the one who discovered the model Amber Valleta.

Then aspiring photographer Patrick Demarchelier was his assistant.

Feurer is also famous for his advertising campaigns. His work for Kenzo in 1985-1986 was widely appreciated and in 1974 he was offered the opportunity to take the pictures of that year’s Pirelli Calendar.

In 1983, Hans Feurer had the privilege of photographing a campaign for the esteemed French luxury brand Kenzo, featuring the iconic model Iman. He has become one of the most renowned photographers of his generation and is frequently sought after by prestigious fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Numero, and Another.

In 2013, the publishing company Damiani Editore presented Feurer with the opportunity to publish a photography book, leading to an exhibition at the renowned Parisian concept store, Colette, in September 2013. Subsequently, in January 2014, he was invited as the guest of honour to showcase some of his photographs during Rome Fashion Week. Later, in June 2014, Feurer exhibited a collection of his work at the Moscow contemporary art gallery RuArts, with the support of Vogue in Russia.

One of his notable publications is the book titled “Hans Feurer,” with a preface by Gianni Jetzer and Olivier Saillard, and under the artistic direction of Fabien Baron, published by Damiani Editore in 2013.
