Balenciaga Women Spring Summer 2016 –

Alexander Wang caused the room to fall silent as models glided down the catwalk in ethereal white – the sole colour to be used in his SS16 Balenciaga collection.  Garments were fashioned out of sheer georgette and creamy silks, which draped over the body creating soft feminine lines.

Ruffles were used to adorn dresses, which swooped to the floor.  Sheer dresses embroidered with flowers were paired with flat slippers.  Hair was loosely caught back into elegant chignons, and make up was subtle.  For a collection lacking in colour, Wang certainly did not disappoint with his use of texture, shape, and the craftsmanship of his pieces.
