Salvatore Ferragamo Women Spring Summer 2016

 

Black leather and demure ruffles opened the latest collection from Salvatore Ferragamo. Prairie skirts and long pleated dresses swept between modest pencil skirts and feminine A-lines, while capelets and puff-sleeved coats with high tying collars were worn over dresses with thin straps tied over scooped or sweetheart necklines. The occasional deep v-necklines were seen on pieces such as a sleeveless wrapped dress with feathery shoulder details.

Stripes were the prominent pattern, both in prints and in a skirt of alternating strips of sheer and opaque. Black was the main color in this collection, paired with crisp white a light blue among brightly striped dresses. Pleating, feathers and ruffles add decoration to graceful silhouettes.

Large round pearls hang from thin chains around necks and at the ears of models. Square kitten heels with pointed toes or round, striped sandals wrap up the ankles. Rectangular purses resembling antique camera cases are mixed in with bucket handbags and slender, square pieces. A refined romance endures through each piece, each with a structure and quality that will allow them to stand alone or combine for effortless style.
