David Koma
David Koma Women Spring Summer 2016 – David Koma is synonymous with body contouring silhouettes which celebrate the female form. Today’s presentation was a veritable sight of monochromes, neutrals and blue hues. Inspiration was a mixture of modern day ballet dancers and martial arts.
Skater dresses with splits zipped open to reveal an under layer swung down the runway, young but sophisticated. Sheer nude skirts revealed black high waist underwear yet remained classy. Silver accents were visible on black dresses in the form of zips and light embellishments. Bodycon dresses with chiffon bandage detail were softened by floaty angel sleeves. Obi style belts were reinterpreted and wrapped round models waists multiple times, this was mimicked on the ankle strap shoes. Paper bag style waists were high and sat under busts on tailored trousers and paired with simple white vests.
The finale featured standout heavily embellished Swarovski crystal dresses in deep navy and powder blue and nude. Koma showed us how to execute a structural yet soft and feminine collection once again.
