Style.com will become a e-commerce platform

Condé Nast announced that they will launch their  e-commerce platform under the Style.com website replacing the news content of the site with a shopping site.

The platform will be launched in the Uk this autumn and in 2016 it will be followed by the US and eventually in other markets around the world. It will target fashion brands as well as upmarket brands from other sectors: beauty, travel, technology. The site should include at the beginning between 100 and 200 brands and it is expected to expand.

“The signed contracts are starting to come in. Every week we sign up another five to ten brands, and the momentum is increasing,” said Style.com president Franck Zayan. “Fashion companies and other upscale brands understand the authority of our magazines and websites, and their unique ability to connect them to potential buyers.”

Style.com will continue to be owned by Condé Nast but will operate as a stand-alone business. I will be based in London, closed to Regent’s park.

The current Style.com editorial content will be redirected to a new url, Voguerunway.com, which can be found on the American Vogue website.
