Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton Women Autumn-Winter 2015 – In only three seasons at Louis Vuitton, artistic director Nicolas Ghequiere is shaping up a new identity for the luxury giant brand with a clever blend of futuristic, 90s rock’n’roll and retro chic.
The show was held inside space-age silver domes at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, with guests seated in each of the three domes and models traversing the rooms, whilst the natural daylight fled in.
The show opened up with oversized polar bear like fur coats worn with a leather skirt and drawstring trousers balancing the top heavy volume silhouette.
Ribbed knitted peplum separates with playful cut-out décolletage details and mini trumpet sleeves.
Models walked in a mish mash of 90s influenced leather trousers and logo emblazoned sheer tops adding an edge to the line. Printed motifs, sequins and foiled flocking adorned miniskirts, lingerie inspired pencil dresses, patch-worked in leather and lace and heavy silk satin trouser suits in black and silver brought masculinity and minimalism.
The signature Damier Louis Vuitton check was transposed in fuzz on skirt and jacket with leather detailing.
Looks were accessorised with chain belt that dangled from models waists with silver medallions. The new Louis Vuitton bag was revealed as an oversized, gleaming vanity case in various colours that was a play on the renowned luggage from the French fashion house. Footwear was pointed toed in the form of boots and strappy kitten heels. Hair was tousled and make-up was kept natural with black eye liner rimming the lower eye lids.
It was successful wearable collection that we see more of Ghesquiere’s magic touch coming through.
