Kenzo Women Autumn-Winter 2015
Kenzo Women Autumn-Winter 2015 – Humberto Leon and Carol Lim put on a colourful show at Kenzo, against a mesmerising backdrop of iridescent moving blocks creating a real feast for the eyes, and the clothes were just as exciting.
With a brand like Kenzo it can sometimes be hard to identify references in their collection, this may be because there aren’t any clear references to a specific decade/subculture and maybe it’s just a unique fashion house that evolves each season.
With that being said the AW15 collection was eclectic and a mixture of prints; floaty florals, colourful stripes and bold graphic shapes. Ponchos set the theme for the silhouette; a trapeze like shape layered over skirts and trousers. Draping was a motif that ran throughout, working with the fluidity of fabrics in a way that only Kenzo can.
The show was a chic take on warm, waterproof dressing with a twist on the anorak, cap and blanket scarfs with sporty touches.
A colour palette that started off with neon colours on black silhouettes, extended to hues of bottle green, aubergine purple and rosy pink adding a feminine feel.
Oversized sunglasses, hoods worn over caps, chunky ankle boots accessorised looks with a funky vibe.
Hair was side parted and slicked back into a ponytail. Make up was kept natural with smudges of white eye make-up swept over the lids making a statement against the vibrancy of the collection.
