Antonio Berardi

Antonio Berardi Women Autumn-Winter 2015 – Considering so many of his collections have been influenced by architecture, it made sense for Antonio Berardi to utilise an unused office block to exhibit his collection. Whilst a white interior space was complimented by the surrounding blue sky, the influence of architecture did not end there.

Inspired by Canadian architect Frank Gehry, Berardi’s collection demonstrated the designers penchant for structure whilst Gehry’s openness to experimentation appeared to be channelled by Berardi, with staple black dresses and their exaggerated  peplum pleats and ruffled edges displaying the designers confidence in experimental twists.

Maintaining the brand’s precision tailoring, contoured looks sculpted and accentuated the female form through A-lined sweeping satins whilst jacquard patterns and coral lining saw casual daywear and slim fitting suits preserving femininity. In line with Autumnal characteristics, Berardi’s opening looks featured opulent green fabrics embroidered with overlapping  golden leaves whilst following pieces exhibited jewelled embellishments and delicate gold detailing. The reinterpretation of staples seemed key in Berardi’s collection with parkas becoming formal through the use of crystals whilst evening dresses displayed just the right amount of sparkle for an early Monday morning.
