A masculine/feminine mix at Hugo Boss Pre-Fall 2015

For all the minimalist refinement, Hugo Boss likes to play with opposites and extremes, and this time around it’s masculinity and femininity: “It’s a houndstooth, a windowpane, a cuff-link, a white shirt. It’s about the codes of menswear, reinterpreted as the new codes of the BOSS woman,” explained Wu.

Those windowpane and houndstooth patterns, blown up to graphic proportions, were the key motif, appearing across slick looks worn with polonecks and modernist chunky knits. Wu stuck to a mostly monochrome palette with touches of bright tree greens, and darker forest colors for his jacquards.

The key shoe style was the leather ankle boots with a crossover strap which features the same cufflink closure as on the belts. The slick daytime tailoring was worn with minimalist sandals, while eveningwear options include masculine tuxedo-style separates alongside gowns and dresses.
